Library vacancy – The Grand County Library District Board of Trustees immediately seeks interested candidates for one volunteer trustee position (open to any Grand County resident age 18 or older). Those candidates living in District 3 will be given preference. District 3 is defined as the west end of the county, including the towns of Hot Sulphur Springs, Parshall and Kremmling. Grand Youth Adventures – Grand Youth Adventures is looking for volunteers to help teach kids to make healthy decisions in their lives through outdoor wilderness experiences. Activities include an afterschool program at the Panthers Den, weekly kayak rolls class and Friday field trips. The Last Time ‘Round Thrift Shop is open to the public Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in Kremmling on the corner of U.S. 40 and 10th street. At the end of every month, there is a $2 bag sale that runs through the week. The sale includes all clothing and shoes for the entire family. Call Monika Cary @ (970) 724-2912. Proceeds benefit the Grand County Historical Association. Volunteers are currently needed to keep the shop open the remaining weekdays.

Girl Scout leaders – Adult volunteers are needed for the local Girl Scouts program enrolling girls 5-to-17 now. Tutoring – East Grand Middle School is starting a tutoring program called “C-Squared” for students who need help in the core competency areas. Caring adults to help for one, maybe two hours a week are needed for a variety of times available during the day and

NSCD volunteers sought – Volunteers are needed on Sundays for the weekly National Sports Center for the Disabled low-vision lesson program and other days throughout the 2008-09 snow sports season when groups of visually impaired students from around the U.S. and U.K. spend several days taking ski and snowboard lessons. A minimum of intermediate ski or snowboard skills are required. The NSCD will provide all the necessary training. Volunteers receive a Winter Park season pass, discounts, continuing education clinics and the opportunity for instructor certification. Headwaters Trails Alliance – Headwaters Trails Alliance and the USFS-Sulphur Ranger District are looking for few good people to step forward and help with improvement on all trails within Grand County as part of the Adopt-A-Trail Program. Troublesome Horse Rescue ” Volunteers are needed to help with the Therapeutic Riding Program for disabled riders. Volunteers must be 18+ years of age.
