Watson to take reins of Grand Foundation
Grand County, CO Colorado
Ron Nelson, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Grand Foundation since 2003, has resigned his position to begin a new chapter in his life.
Nelson made a tremendous impact during his nine years as Chairman of the Board at the Grand Foundation. After moving from Denver to Grand County in 2000, Nelson sat on the Board as a director while working as the branch manger at Wells Fargo Bank. In 2003, the Board of Directors elected him as Chairman of the Board.
During his tenure, he led the granting of more than $5 million. It is with much gratitude that the Grand Foundation recognizes Nelson for his dedication to the Grand County community and its welfare. He truly will be missed by all.
Moving forward, the Foundation welcomes Ben Watson as the new Chairman of the Board. Watson has been a director on the Grand Foundation Board since 2005 and a full-time resident of Grand County for 10 years, following a career in the corporate world. He is passionate about both the importance of creating an endowment for the Grand Foundation and to bringing higher education to Grand County.
Under Watson’s leadership, the Grand Foundation will continue its mission of helping to improve the lives of residents and guests in Grand County.
Along with the position of chairman, other roles recently elected by the Grand Foundation Board include Sheri Lock as Vice-Chair, Jennifer Colley as Treasurer and CA Lane as Board Secretary.
