Weather advisory: 6 to 10 inches of snow possible in Grand County by early Sunday
The National Weather Service in Boulder has issued a winter weather advisory for Grand County, effective Friday evening to early Sunday morning.
Forecasters are predicting anywhere from six to 10 inches of snow, beginning 6 p.m. Friday in areas of the county below 9,000 feet, until 5 a.m. Sunday.
Wind gusts as high as 35 mph are to be expected during the storm.
Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving, according to the National Weather Service.
The advisory is also in effect for areas of North Park and Summit County.
