West Grand schools see student increase
Grand County, CO Colorado
The West Grand School district has conducted its unofficial head count for the month of October. Its grand total of 434 students is up 11 students from the October count in 2011.
The biggest gain was in elementary school, which increased by 10 students to a total of 208. Middle school received one more student from last year, and the high school count remained the same.
K-8 Principal Kelly Martin attributes the increase to new families coming in to take new jobs available in the area.
The district’s official count won’t be in until Nov. 1, and will take into account the number of pre-school students as well.
