What’s open and closed on Presidents’ Day?

Presidents’ Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. This year, that is Feb. 19.

Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government, but celebrates all United States presidents.

Presidents’ Day weekend, from Feb. 16 to 19, is a popular weekend for travel since school is typically out and various locations are closed.
