Winter Park Chamber Summer Season Kicks Off: Fraser Farmers Market, Tuesday and Thursday Night Concert Series
Winter Park and the Fraser Valley will feature acts and genres to satisfy every musical appetite this summer.The free Tuesday and Thursday Night music concert series will take place all summer long starting Tuesday, June 30, at Picnic In The Park in Fraser and High Note Thursdays starting July 2 in Hideaway Park in Winter Park.Fraser Picnic in the Park (Tuesdays June 30 – Aug. 11) includes live music at Old Schoolhouse Park in Fraser from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. This is a family event, so children can enjoy activities and play outdoors while the adults enjoy live music. This free music series kicks off with as Osborne & Key. Other Tuesday night musicians include the Mike and Amy Finders Band, Claddagh, Dakota Blonde, Hunker Down, 3rd Time Lucky and Yaniv & Friends.Families are encouraged to bring their most creative picnic set-up to have a chance to win the Frank Expressions “Picnic with Pizzazz” contest. A winner will be picked at the end of each night. A reminder: We love pets, but please keep them at home. High Note Thursdays (Thursdays July 2 – Aug. 20) in Winter Park 6-8 p.m., brings a mix of salsa, country, bluegrass and acoustic styles of music to Hideaway Park. The first High-Note Thursday starts off with the spicy flair of Quemando, an 11 piece salsa band from Denver. Other featured Thursday night music acts included The Cedar Ridge Ramblers, Jennifer Lane, Tempa & The Tamtrums, Slopeside, Hunker Down, Aurora Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet and Kort McCumber & McCumberland Gap. Attendees are encouraged to bring carryout dinners & wine from local restaurants and wine tasting rooms and enjoy dinner outside while listening to the great music. Free taxi will be available on Thursday nights courtesy of Valley Taxi for those wanting a ride. Attention All Chamber Members: The Chamber will host its Annual Membership Appreciation Party with the July 2 High-Note Thursday concert. A special section of the park will be roped off for the “Membership Fiesta.” Members will enjoy a taco bar catered by Azteca Mexican Restaurant, margaritas, cervezas and the salsa band as we kick-off the summer season.RSVP to 726-4118 by Tuesday, June 30, to ensure enough food for all participating members. The Fraser Farmers Market (Sundays June 26-Aug. 2) will begin Sunday in downtown Fraser from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Fresh produce will be available from Morales Farms and Sweet Pea Produce. And check out jewelry, clothing, furniture, Indian-style beaded crafts and more.
