Winter Park hosts Gobble Hobble race to benefit Grand County foundations
WINTER PARK – The second annual Gobble Hobble Charity Fun Race will take place at Winter Park Resort on Saturday.
The race is held to collect nonperishable food items to support local foundations in Grand County during the holiday season.
Participants gather at the starting line of last year’s Gobble Hobble Charity Race at the base of Sorensen Park and head up Turnpike toward 300 Yard Walk. It will then proceed down 300 Yard Walk to Village Way, and then down Village Way to the finish line at the base of the Gemini Express Lift (total 1.23 miles).
This will be a great event for people of all ages. All participants must use either cross country skis, skis with skins, or snowshoes. No foot traffic will be allowed.
Nonperishable food item donations are welcome even if guests are not participating in the event. Donations can be dropped off in the Balcony House during registration hours.
Registration includes any non-perishable food item. The food items will be donated to local foundations to be distributed throughout the valley. First prize is dinner for two at The Lodge at Sunspot, second place is a $50 Winter Park Resort gift card and third place is a $25 Goodys gift card.
After the race, resort guests are invited to participate in the annual Village Tree Lighting Ceremony, complete with live carolers, hot drink specials from Starbucks, and a chance to meet Santa.
