Winter Park ski and snowboard swap
The Winter Park Competition Center will host its 28th Annual Ski and Snowboard Swap on Friday, Oct. 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in West Portal Station at the base of Winter Park Resort. This event will offer all snow sport fanatics a chance to save on goods provided by individuals and vendors liquidating last year’s stock at up to 75 percent off.The event is open to the public and will cost $3 per person or $8 for a family on Friday, and no charge on Saturday. However, the equipment selection is sure to be best for the early birds on Friday night. The swap will feature skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, helmets, apparel, and the like, everything new or experienced rippers and shredders of all ages need to get equipped for the season. “The Ski and Snowboard Swap offers deep discounts on gear and apparel from nearly a dozen vendors and numerous individuals,” said Jeff Burrows, Competition Center director. “The Ski and Snowboard Swap is also a terrific opportunity for individuals to consign gently used equipment to make room in the closet for the new toys they pick up at Swap.” In addition to being able to purchase new equipment, individuals may also sell their gently used equipment and apparel. All brands are welcome; from Burton, Marmot, and Volkl to local Rocky Mountain region shops and vendors. Individual items must be dropped off at West Portal Station between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. Twenty percent of individual sales are retained by the Competition Center.
