Winter Park: Skier dies the Lodge at Sunspot Sunday

At approximately 1:20 p.m. Sunday, a 49 year old male from California was found unconscious in the Lodge at Sunspot at Winter Park Resort.

Resort ski patrollers were in the area and responded immediately. The individual was then transported to Seven Mile Clinic at the base of Winter Park Resort.

The individual was pronounced dead at approximately 2:28 p.m. by the doctors of Seven Mile Clinic. The cause of death has not been determined at this time. A routine investigation of the incident is underway.

“We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the individual’s family and friends for their loss,” said Jennifer deBerge, communications coordinator for Winter Park Resort.
