As predicted, a fast moving winter storm is bringing strong winds and snow to Grand County. According to the National Weather Service, Grand County can expect areas of blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibility at times into the evening. Total accumulation is forecast to be from 5 to 10 inches.

Adverse weather conditions on Berthoud Pass have forced the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to close U.S. 40 from mile marker 234 to 248 at 4:15 p.m.

Scattered snow showers are expected Wednesday morning with gradual clearing by Wednesday afternoon.

CDOT also closed I-70 from Floyd Hill to Silverthorne at 3:41 p.m. on Wednesday.
