With election over, we can move on to what’s really important
September 29, 2008
The election is over. Now, Grand Lake residents should focus on better supervision of the town personnel’s completion of work needed all through our little town, plus better fiscal attention to the needs of the town after seeing that Ms. Burke was seriously challenged for her position.
At least, this is what we can all hope. Thank you, Mr. Harrington, for your efforts to bring attention to the various lack of the town to “attend to business” vs. harassing owners on the zoning issue – as well as the potholes, lack of grounds care in very visable areas and harassment of tourists. It’s all painting a very poor picture of what most of us would like to see as Grand Lake.
Possibly Ms. Burke can get on with being a real mayor instead of strutting about. Now she can overlook the true needs of the town.
The devisiveness and ill-will that I’ve seen as a fairly new resident have really given me a nasty taste in my mouth. Do I really want to live here? Is “small town America” my cup of tea?
Can I be proud of Grand Lake, or is it all a grand illusion? Time will tell.
