Woman accused of jury tampering back in Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) – A Boulder woman accused of trying to bribe a juror is back in Colorado after allegedly trying to flee the country.

Prosecutors say 51-year-old Darine Chely offered a juror $5,000 to find her not guilty on weapons charges last month. Chely was convicted, and the juror turned over a note offering the bribe.

Chely was arrested in New York state on April 28. Authorities say she was trying to cross into Canada.

Chely has been returned to Boulder County, where she faces charges of jury tampering and bribery.
