Woman found dead on Highway 125

Sky-Hi News Staff Report

A 22-year-old woman was found dead around 7 a.m. on Monday, May 30, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer, Lt. Dan Mayer. She was found on Colo. Highway 125 near C Lazy U Ranch where she worked.

Mayer said the death was deemed a suicide by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office investigators and the Grand County Coroner’s Office.

She was well known and well liked in the community, said Mayer.

Her friends and co-workers did not see a reason why she would have done this and there was no evidence of foul play, he said.

Grief counseling was available for employees at C Lazy U Ranch on Monday.

As of press time, the Grand County Coroners office was unable to be reached to release the woman’s name.

This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
