WP council approves final extension plats
The Winter Park Town Council had several final plat extension requests on their plates at their Feb. 8 meeting.
Serenity WP requested a final plat extension for the Serenity Trail project located near Winter Park Resort. The company said the extension request is due to a lack of presales on the units being developed. In order to secure a loan for the project, they must secure presales prior to breaking ground. This is the company’s fourth extension and it will last for 180 days.
Serenity Trail at Winter Park was approved in February 2015 for 12 duplex united located on Timber House Rd. near Winter Park Resort.
Winter Park Station requested its thirteenth final plat extension for the Crestview Place Condominiums. Winter Park Station was approved in January 2010 for 32 commercial condominium units on the corner of Vasquez Rd. and U.S. Highway 40. The council voted to continue the discussion until the next meeting to discuss the matter further.
Rendezvous Colorado requested its fifteenth final plat extension for Rendezvous at Winter Park. The development will include 190 single-family and multiple-family units located near the old Idlewild ski area. The project was approved in July 2009. The extension was requested because of the continued economic slowdown currently affecting the housing market, according to Rendezvous Colorado. The company has also implemented a property maintenance plan that addresses pine beetle infected tree removal; slash burning; installation and maintenance of erosion control devices; noxious weed control; seeding and revegetation; and trails upkeep. The company also plans to design and construct a new pedestrian bridge this year that will span the Fraser River and connect Rendezvous with the Headwaters Community Center.
The council voted to approve the extension, which lasts for 180 days.
Urban Living at Winter Park requested its second final plat extension for Reunion Station at Winter Park, which will consist of five townhome lots and one commercial lot located on U.S. 40 adjacent to the post office. The request was made because of a lack of presales on the units.
The town council voted to approve the 180-day extension.
The next Winter Park Town Council meeting is Feb. 21 at 8 a.m.
