Wyatt Brent, 7, of Fraser won second place in the SRAC-AMA District 25 Champ Series 50cc Class 3 motorcycle series, a Supercross series event for the Sports Riders Association of Colorado (SRAC).
He trains at the motocross course in Granby. His father, Scotty Brent, said that when Wyatt first started riding he wasn’t that fast. He may have learned a bit from his brother, Keith, 9, who won first place in the Supercross championship series last year.
Brent says the sport teaches sportsmanship and responsibility. The boys also learn how to be bike mechanics, and riders must keep good grades and good behavior in school to participate.
“It’s my hook to keep them in line,” said their father.
