Wyoming deputy finds body of missing Steamboat Springs kayaker

RAWLINS, Wyoming (AP) – A body recovered from the Encampment River over the weekend has been identified as that of a Colorado man who disappeared last month while kayaking.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Department says the body has been identified as 35-year-old Brian Stothart of Steamboat Springs, Colo. He drowned while kayaking on June 13.

Carbon County Deputy Sheriff Troy Vorn found Stothart’s body on Saturday morning in the Encampment River Canyon. Vorn found the body while patrolling the river on horseback about one-half mile downstream from the site where Stothart was last seen by fellow boaters.
