Xfinity landline service down for many in Grand County, across nation
Comcast works to overcome nationwide outage issues
Phone service is down in sporadic segments of Grand County today as Comcast Xfinity works to address a large service outage occurring today across the United States.
Xfinity phone service has been knocked out for thousands of customers across the country, specifically impacting those that rely on landline phone access. The first reports of downed service began emerging at approximately 6 a.m. today and have continued through the afternoon in Grand County.
“Customers may still be experiencing an issue with their Voice service. We appreciate your patient as we continue to resolve. Please continue to check back here for more updates,” Comcast posted on Twitter this afternoon.
A map of the United States from downdetector.com shows several large swaths of the country impacted by the service outage. The largest outage areas appear on the west coast and the northeast area of the country. The map also shows significant outage areas elsewhere in the state of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Florida and in various places across the Midwest.
