Grand Concerts has announced its lineup of classic artists. From January to April, the musical nonprofit will host five concerts in Tabernash.

First, the violin-guitar duo Yu&I will play at 7 p.m. Jan. 10 at Church of Eternal Hills.

“Their repertoire is a celebration of their diverse backgrounds, blending folk-inspired melodies from South Korea and Germany in addition to classical favorites and movie themes,” Grand Concerts board President Traci Maddox wrote.

On Feb. 22, classical accordionist Hanzhi Wang will return to the Grand Concerts stage. The last time she performed was 2020, and this time, it will be a candlelight concert.

Next up is the Valencia Baryton Project on March 7. Three artists will provide five unique sounds, so audiences can enjoy string quartet music. Grand Concerts will also organize a special performance by the Valencia Baryton Project for National Sports Center for the Disabled participants.

Maddox stated that performers use an ancient instrument called the baryton, which is a combination of a cello and harpsichord, to produce this music.

Hanzhi Wang will return to the Grand Concerts stage Feb. 22. Wang is the only accordionist to win a place on the roster of Young Concert Artists.

April will bring two more classically inspired groups. On April 4, audiences can listen to the piano trio TAKE3.

“Their tagline is ‘Where Rock meets Bach,’ and they specialize in mashups of well-known classical music with some favorite contemporary pieces our audience will know and love,” Maddox wrote.

The concert series will round out with a performance April 26 by Hijinx. This is the first time Grand Concerts will host a clarinet quartet.

Maddox added that season passholders will have additional benefits with at least one more special event in the fall. She also hopes Grand Concerts can continue to partner with the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber for a High-Note Thursdays concert in the summer.
