Grand County real estate transactions to return Thursday

Autumn Phillips " From the Editor

I have learned what you wanted by what I leave out. Getting to know you ” through omission.

I left out the cops and court reports one week and heard about it.

I left out the Friday Report and Inell Harvey’s Heeney Hearsay and quickly learned how many fans those two columnists have.

And, I left out the weekly real estate transactions.

But this omission was not an accident. It occurred by the simple fact that I didn’t have anyone on staff with the time to type them every week.

And I heard about it.

Daily, I have received e-mails telling me how much readers miss those weekly listings of what house sold for how much to whom.

As the weeks passed, the requests became more heated.

Thankfully, after weeks of saying, “I’m working on it,” they’re back.

Pick up the Sky-Hi Daily News tomorrow and you’ll see a list of all the transactions dating back to Oct. 1 ” the last day they were published.

It took the woman I hired 14 hours to type the names and prices of all the lots and properties that sold from Oct. 1 to Nov. 10.

From now on, we’ll run the transactions from the previous week in Grand County Homes and Properties ” the real estate insert we publish with the Friday Sky-Hi Daily News.

For subscribers, I’ll run the transactions in the Middle Park Times every week.

In the midst of all the e-mails and phone calls about the transactions, no one ever really explained to me why they were so important or why reading them is such a big part of why people picked up the Grand County newspapers.

And I didn’t really ask why. I just figured out a way to run them.

Our goal is to be the best information source about Grand County and, if following the real estate transactions helps you keep the pulse of the area’s economy or simply gives you the guilty pleasure of knowing how much your friend paid for that four-bedroom, we are now offering that information ” in print and on the Web at http://www.skyhidailynews.com.
