Laurie Henderhan – Meals, Movies, Music and More on tap in Kremmling

It’s officially spring and the traces of snow from Friday’s storm are still on the ground, with another storm on the way this week.

West Grand School District is on spring break and a lot of people are gone for the week, but there are plenty of activities for us to choose from.

Cellobration – a musical group will be presenting a program at 4:30 p.m. Saturdya, March 27, at Cliffview Assisted Living Center. Anyone who would like to come over and listen to the music is invited to attend.

Mystery Movie night is 6 p.m. at the Kremmling Library is Tuesday, March 30. Bring a friend to see the free, kid and adult friendly movie of the month. Call the library at 724-9228 to find out the name of this month’s movie.

It’s the last Sunday of the month, so it’s time to gather at the Extension Hall for the Story and Song Event. Join local musicians and writers at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, for an afternoon of story telling and a jam session that lasts till the cows come home. Everyone is welcome and there is always ice cream and pie for sale to benefit the Rough Writers Scholarship fund.

The Kremmling Chamber of Commerce is always looking for volunteers to help with mailings, greeting visitors and the many events the Chamber provides for all of us to enjoy.

On Saturday, April 3, the Chamber will host its Easter egg hunt at Cliffview. May brings the annual Chamber dinner on the 15th and June of course, has Kremmling Days. These events require many man (and woman) hours of time, much of it behind the scenes. If you can volunteer to help at any of these functions contact Kacey or Marty at the Chamber office at 724-3472.

Bruce Cordova, Antonio Corrales and Tom Henderhan attended the Rocky Mtn Nationals Wrestling Tournament this past weekend in Denver. The event was held at the National Western Stock Show Event Center. More than 2,200 wrestlers from all over the country, ages 3-18, were divided into 16 man brackets for the tournament.  Tom was in the 60 lb; age 7-9 bracket and won one match and lost two. Bruce was in the 100 lb; 10 and under bracket and lost one match in overtime by one point and lost a very tough second match. Antonio won two matches and lost two matches in the 80 lb; 10-12 age bracket. Coaches Jim Henderhan and Henry Cordova accompanied the boys.

I will be glad to spread the good word about anything our area students, kids, and grandkids are doing. We hear so many bad things going on, I think we need to encourage and acknowledge the good things our kids are involved in and are doing.

We may take for granted the small town we live in, but there is still crime out there. There have been two cars stolen within days of each other right in town and only one has been recovered. Kremmling Police urges us not to leave our cars running unattended or leave the keys in the car when you aren’t in it.

Contact me at , 970-531-2431 or 724-9575 will your events, programs or questions. Have a good week.
