Serene Wellness Marijuana Shop

We do not need any more pot shops. I do not want this image for our town, I do not want this image for our ski area, I do not want the crime that inevitably comes hand and hand with this drug culture. You just have to read the Denver paper, with the daily reports of crime and murders. Marijuana is a dangerous substance. It is an addicting, mind-altering, gateway drug which has long term health damaging effects to the brain and lungs, at a minimum. The THC in the 60s was 2 percent, today it is 60 to 70 percent or more. Having spent 15 years, in the 80s and 90s when our children were in school, with the Ft Collins successful Community & Parents Task Force , and as President of Colorado Federation of Drug Free Youth. I learned more than I wanted to know about the consequences of marijuana use, and its international industry- none of it good. Winter Park has many families with school age children. We are not just a town of vacationers. I observe how hard parents, the school district, teachers and community organizationsthroughout the county continue to work, educate, and provide activities for our children so hopefully they will stay away from drugs, and its downwards spiral, and make good choices in life. I hope you will support the people of Winter Park who reject this shop. Whether we are permanent families or second home people we want to promote a drug free community.
