The Gift of Giving
Grand Angels wish to thank all Grand County residents, merchants, churches and volunteers as well as Rotary of Grand Lake, the Town of Grand Lake, Grand Lake Fire Protection District and City Market who supported the 5th annual Secret Santa Shop. Thanks also to Lance Maggart for his great article in Sky-Hi News about the event. Over 225 kids from all over the county came to “shop for free” for their parents and pets. Smiles of joy and wonder at the amazing selection of gifts for them to choose from abounded. Decisions were hard (but fun and well thought out) for the perfect gift and then the perfect wrapping for them to show their love for their parents and pets. These kids also enjoyed a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as either a sleigh ride or a fire truck ride. It was a blessing to see these kids so into finding the “perfect gift” for their loved ones. Truly seeds were planted that it is better to give than to receive. Several parents shared that on Christmas morning, their kids were more excited for them to open their presents than for the kids to open theirs. Yes, the JOY of GIVING was so a gift to all who attended, volunteered and supported. Thank you GRAND COUNTY! Our neighbors matter! We showed we care. Thanks for being a part of this gift.
