William Hamilton – News flash: Mossad blamed for global warming
Grand County, CO Colorado
In an interview with the UK Daily Mail, Professor Phil Jones, the University of East Anglia “scientist” at the center of the climategate scandal, confessed that there has been no global warming since 1995, that global warming periods have happened before and were not due to man-made changes, and that he has lost the data he used to back up his earlier claims of man-made global warming.
The climategate scandal prompted Yvo de Boer, the Executive Secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, to resign. According to The Wall Street Journal, Al Gore and the Obama Administration have based their calls for huge taxes on carbon emissions on the shoddy science being touted by the U.N.
Based on all these recent revelations, The Washington Times declared: “Man-made global warming theory isn’t backed up by science; it’s a hoax.”
There was, however, an upside to the global-warming hoax: Some people were motivated to take better care of the only planet we have at the moment. People were worrying about sending toxins up into the skies. Even the adult male polar bear, which likes to eat baby polar bears, was gaining in popularity.
More people were taking out flood insurance. More people were buying those funny-looking light bulbs that, to be efficient, must be left on for at least 15 minutes and almost need a Hazmat team for safe disposal.
So, if the planet has not been warming since 1995 or 1998 (take your pick among the data) does that mean that the planet is cooling? This year’s record low temperatures and huge snowfalls on media centers such as New York City and Washington, D.C., have produced a few global-cooling stories. But, lest we fall into another junk-science trap, let’s just say we don’t know for sure.
Based on what is known about the Medieval Warming Period (850-1100 A.D.) and the Little Ice Age (1300-1850), it’s not rocket science to conclude that global warming is much kinder to plants and animals than global cooling. In order to get the temperature just right, Mr. Obama should appoint Miss Goldilocks to head the EPA. Actually, that’s more logical than his Crap on Trade legislation that would cripple the free-market forces we need to invent a viable replacement for fossil fuels.
Now, a brief follow-up to last week’s column about the assassination of Hamas military commander, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, in a luxury Dubai hotel while al-Mabhouh was trying to set up a deal for Iran to arm Hamas with powerful rockets for use against Israel: Dubai, being an Arab country, would like to prove that Israel’s Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations (the Mossad) took out al-Mabhouh. But airline manifests show that two members of the hit team fled to Iran. Would Mossad agents risk execution in Iran? How likely is that?
Tom Gross, writing in Mideast Media Analysis, says the people the Dubai police caught on the luxury hotel’s CCTV cameras were not committing any crimes and could have been perfectly innocent Israelis who had been identified by police from airline flight manifests. Ironically, Mr. al-Mabhouh himself was traveling on a false passport.
Even if Mr. al-Mabhouh were merely the victim of an internal power struggle between the Syrian and Iranian wings of Hamas, The Times of London reports that the Mossad is now wildly popular in Israel. “T-shirts with Mossad logos are selling out at stores and the agency has experienced a flood of applicants.”
But wait. This could be a really truly clever trick by Mossad: Could Mossad have stopped the acquisition of deadly missiles, left a trail leading to Iran and, at the same time, stimulated recruiting? (Readers wishing to apply should go to: http://www.mossad.gov. Mossad applicants must have a college degree and fluency in at least two languages.)
