Highway 40 opens after two-car crash

Roads have reopened after a two-car crash on the Granby side of Red Dirt Hill, between Granby and Fraser, according to Christian Hornbaker, emergency manager for the Grand County Office of Emergency Management.

The crash involved two vehicles, though the number of individuals involved is unclear at this moment. All persons involved in the crash have been transported off the scene.

One woman was trapped inside her vehicle, but emergency workers were able to cut through the roof of the car to free her. She was transported emergent to Middle Park Medical Center, according to Hornbaker.

One vehicle, an SUV that sustained a head on collision, has been removed from the scene. There is still one vehicle on the scene, according to Hornbaker. He emphasized that drivers should take it slow, and focus on the road instead of the crash.
