A special ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday afternoon — which hadn’t been done in years due to poor weather — at the top of Trail Ridge Road to commemorate the road’s opening for the season. Friday was the first full day it had been opened since late heavy snowstorms forced the seasonal road to postpone its opening in time for Memorial Day.
