Grand County airports remain fully operational and are supporting wildfire response aircraft, despite ongoing construction at Kremmling Airport’s main apron, the aircraft parking area.

Airport operations staff are using both Granby Airport and Kremmling Airport to provide staging areas, fuel and other resources for aerial firefighting crews.

Granby Airport is currently serving as the base of operations for three firefighting helicopters. Officials said the airport can safely accommodate up to eight helicopters if additional aircraft are needed.

Airport officials said they are proud to support firefighting efforts across the region.

Local pilots are advised to check current Notices to Air Missions, or NOTAMs, before flying for updated airfield layouts, temporary closures and information on active firefighting traffic at both airports.
