Obituary: Kenton Johnson
May 6, 1952 – October 19, 2024
Kenton Allen Johnson, 72, of Sun City West, AZ passed away on October 19, 2024 after a battle with Prostate Cancer.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 9:00 am at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Please wear royal blue or light blue in Kenton’s honor.
Kenton was born on May 6, 1952 to Leslie & Phyllis Johnson in Hendricks, MN. After graduating from Wall High School in 1971, he entered the US Army and was in the 82nd Airborne Division until June 1974.
In 1976, Kenton married Rebecca (Becky) Hall. They spent their married life in a variety of towns: Wall, SD; Gillette, WY; Granby, CO; Lake Havasu City, AZ; Burlington, ND and Sun City West, AZ. They spent most of their married life in Gillette where Kenton worked at Buckskin Coal Mine. In retirement Kenton enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, and traveling.
He was predeceased by his Mother and Father. He is survived by his wife, Becky; son, Rusty (Andie) Johnson, daughter Kristi (Dan) Jost, six grandchildren Burton, Gunnar, Halle, Cali, Dylan, Bodhi, two brothers Lee and Kevin (twin).
