“This season is an opportunity for us to show everyone who A-Basin is,” said Arapahoe Basin president and COO Alan Henceroth, “For folks with the Ikon Pass, this may be your first time visiting us. For our returning community, we’d like to reintroduce ourselves – we’re the same A-Basin you know and love, only maybe even a little better.”

On opening day, skiers and riders can enjoy skiing and riding on High Noon, a mountain-blue run, accessed via the Black Mountain Express. The resort has plans to continue snowmaking, opening more terrain as quickly as possible, heading up to the summit and starting next with Lenawee Face and Dercum’s Gulch.

Opening day will also feature giveaways, donuts for the first guests in line and live music all day in the base area. Parking reservations are not needed on opening day and are only required on weekends from Jan. 3, 2025, to May 3, 2025.

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area recently announced Ikon Pass access change ahead of the 2025-26 winter season to allow skiers and riders on its base pass more days on its slopes.

The Ikon Base Pass will now offer unlimited early season skiing and riding at A-Basin from opening day through Friday, Dec. 19.

The unlimited early season access days will not count against the 5-day limit for skiing at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area on Ikon Base Pass. Now Ikon Base Pass holders will have a 5-day limit for skiing at Arapahoe Basin from Dec. 20 to closing day.

Full Ikon Pass holders were granted unlimited days at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area after the mountain was bought by Alterra Mountain Co.
