August and September will bring half-priced bus ticket fares for Bustang trips on the West Line route, which runs between Grand Junction and Denver via Interstate 70. 

The reduced fares will begin Tuesday, Aug. 1, and will continue until Saturday, Sept. 30. The 50% reductions will also be available for the North Line between Fort Collins and Denver, the South Line between Colorado Springs and Denver, and RamsRoute between Colorado State University and Denver. 

Gov. Jared Polis announced the news through his office Tuesday, July 25, saying the reduction will provide a lower-cost alternative to driving and help support statewide efforts to mitigate ozone pollution caused by traffic. 

“Public transportation saves people money, protects the environment and reduces traffic so that Coloradans can get where they need to go faster,” Polis said in a statement. 

This is the second year prices have been slashed for the Bustang. During last year’s half-priced fares, ridership increased by 77% compared to the same time period in 2021. It also boosted ridership by 20% compared to the month before the promotion. 

Bustang stops along many stations located across the I-70 corridor. There are stops in Denver (Union Station and Federal Center Station), Idaho Springs (intersection of Idaho and 13th streets), Frisco (Frisco Station), Vail (Vail Transportation Center), Avon (Avon Station), Eagle (Chambers Park & Ride), Glenwood Springs (West Glenwood Park & Ride), Rifle (Park-n-Ride, U.S. Highway 6 and Colorado Highway 13), Parachute (Rafting Center, I-70 and County Road 215), and Grand Junction (Grand Valley Transportation at South Avenue and 5th Street, and Grand Junction Airport at 2828 Walker Field Drive). 

Buses run between 5:15 a.m. and midnight depending on the route and location. 

Bustang’s Pegasus, Outrider, Bustang to Estes, Bustang to Broncos and multiple ride ticket packages are not part of the promotion.
