After qualifying at their regionals competition on Oct. 4th, three Middle Park Cross Country runners have earned the opportunity to compete at state.

Several members of the team fought for placement in the top 15 spots of their respective races. Senior Sage York (14th), junior Chloe Seppala (12th), and freshman Brianna Byrnes (8th) each earned individual spots at the Colorado State Championships, held Saturday Nov. 1st in Colorado Springs.

From West Grand, sophomore Téarri Luna earned her second trip to the State Championships.

“This has been an awesome season,” Chloe Seppala commented. “We have a good group of people going to state— this is my favorite course, so I’m really excited to run.” Chloe has participated at the state meet for the past three years.

For the rest of the team, the season has come to an end. The team has accomplished many personal bests over the past few months. Long days and difficult training both running and in the weight room has given the athletes many improvements this year, and a strong team in the coming years.

The team will be departing for the race at 8 AM on Saturday morning, with a send off from the county.
