CSP: Two killed in Thursday wreck on US 40 one mile east of Kremmling

Sky-Hi News staff report

Colorado State Patrol has confirmed two fatalities in a car wreck that happened at 5:14 p.m. Thursday on US Highway 40.

A CSP spokesman said a pickup truck and SUV collided head-on near mile post 186. The Grand County Office of Emergency Management put that about a mile east of Kremmling.

US 40 was closed in both directions for hours while drivers were detoured around the wreck. The route reopened shortly before 9 p.m.

Friday morning, a CSP spokesman declined to release the names of the deceased because, he said, troopers are still working to notify the families.
