Law enforcement officials are investigating the death of a 38-year-old Granby resident, according to a news release from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

The woman, identified Monday, Dec. 22, as Brenda Mendoza Reyes, was pronounced dead at 1:02 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Middle Park Health, according to Grand County Coroner Tawnya Bailey.

Authorities were first alerted to the incident after a witness reportedly saw two men putting a woman’s body into a vehicle near the U.S. Forest Service Sulphur Ranger District Office on Ten Mile Drive in Granby at about noon Saturday, Dec. 20, according to the release. The witness then watched one of the men drive the woman across U.S. Highway 40 to the hospital, the released stated.
