Mountain Parks Electric, Inc. and Sustainable Grand are informing community members of deadlines for sunsetting federal incentives for electric vehicles, solar and energy efficiency products.

In a news release, the energy coop and the nonprofit shared the following sunset dates:

Incentives ending

For those considering the purchase of an electric vehicle, please be aware the $7,500 federal tax credit will expire on Sept. 30; Colorado’s credit will be reduced after the first of the year.

For those considering adding solar to homes or business, the 30% federal energy tax credit will expire at the end of the 2025. To learn more about the process to go solar, visit Mountain Park’s website at MPEI.com/Roof-Top-Solarnet-Metering. Thanks to members who contribute to the coop’s Clean Power Program, the electric coop offers its members a $500 rebate for new solar systems.

The federal weatherization tax credit of up to $1,200 will sunset on Dec. 31. To save money on energy bills by improving the energy efficiency of your home, make sure your insulation, sealing gaps and new doors/windows projects are completed by Dec. 31 to take advantage of the credit.

Local cost cutting measures

To help their members save energy and control their costs, Mountain Parks plans to continue with its energy efficiency and electrification rebates including insulation, heat tape timers and smart thermostats. Learn more at MPEI.com//2025-Rebates.
