Those who receive the federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)  benefits (also known as food stamps) could see those payments put on hold beginning Nov. 1.  This is a change impacting all SNAP households and cannot be appealed.

Because of the federal government shutdown, SNAP funds may not be released to states in time for people to receive their November benefits. The most up to date information about the status of your benefits can be found at CDHS.Colorado.gov/SNAP.

What should I do if I don’t receive November’s SNAP benefits?

The Mountain Family Center food pantries will be open in Grand County for community members in need to pick up fresh produce, meat, dairy and pantry staples.

The Granby pantry is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to noon. The Kremmling pantry is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A satellite pantry is also available in Fraser at the Changes Thrift Store. It is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Walden pantry in Jackson County is open from 2-4 p.m. on the first, third, fourth and fifth Wednesday of each month. There is also a monthly food distribution at the Wattenberg Center on the second Tuesday of each month from noon to 3 p.m.
