Furniture from posh Aspen hotel donated to Habitat for Humanity
ASPEN (AP) a” Some new Habitat for Humanity homes may be outfitted with furniture that once graced Aspenas Little Nell Hotel, where a suite can run as much as $5,500 a night.
The Little Nell has donated furniture, bedding, appliances and decor from 86 rooms as the hotel undergoes an $18 million renovation.
Some of the items will be offered for sale at ReStore, a Habitat for Humanity store that sells to the public.
J.P. Strait, construction manager for Habitat for Humanity Roaring Fork Valley, says other items will be used in Habitat homes planned in Rifle, about 60 miles west of Aspen.
The Little Nell is owned by the Aspen Skiing Co., which also owns the Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass ski areas.
