Gas leak closes County Road 50
There is a significant gas leak in an 8″ transmission line in the Church Park area of County Road 50, Xcel Energy announced at 5 p.m. on Oct. 30.
Xcel Energy is on scene and working to mitigate the leak, however, it is expected to be an extended operation. Agencies assisting include: Grand County EMS, East Grand Fire Protection District, Grand County Sheriff’s Office and staff from Young Life Crooked Creek Ranch.
County Road 50 is closed between Young Life Crooked Creek Ranch and just passed the winter gate.
There are currently no structures threatened and no evacuations. There is no immediate threat to the public. Xcel Energy is the primary agency for this incident and we will be sharing any updates they release.
