Grand County Dems to host immigration law and civil rights speaker series

The Grand County Democrats are hosting an Immigration Law and “Know Your Rights” Speaker Series this February, offering community members educational resources on immigration law and how to respond to immigration enforcement activity, according to a press release from the organization.

The series begins with a virtual “Know Your Rights” training on Thursday, Feb. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty, a candidate for Colorado attorney general, will speak about the rights of individuals and observers during immigration enforcement and related situations. A second event, “Basics of Immigration Law in Challenging Times,” will be held Thursday, Feb. 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fraser Valley Library. Immigration attorney Ron Harman King will present an educational, non-partisan overview of the history of U.S. immigration law and key legal concepts.



Registration is required for both in-person and virtual events and can be completed online.
