Grand County to consolidate Facebook pages starting Jan. 1

Grand County Colorado/Facebook cover page
Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, Grand County will consolidate several departmental Facebook pages into a single centralized account: the Grand County Colorado page.
The initiative, led by communications director Christine Travis, is designed to streamline how residents and visitors receive updates on county services, programs and emergency information. Currently, community members must follow multiple pages to stay informed on topics ranging from public health alerts to economic development. After the consolidation, all routine updates will be posted to the main county page.
Travis said the change is intended to make public information more accessible. She noted that there are currently 29 profiles and pages beginning with “Grand County” which has led to fragmented audiences.
“We’ve fractured our Grand County community audience,” Travis said.
While Facebook is the initial focus — given its widespread use among residents — Travis hopes to eventually consolidate other social media platforms to further streamline communications.
Pages scheduled for retirement include:
Grand County Emergency Medical Services
Grand County Economic Development
The Grand County Emergency Management page will remain active but will be used exclusively during emergencies and major incidents, such as wildfires.
Residents are encouraged to like and follow the Grand County Colorado Facebook page as well as check the Grand County website to stay informed.
