Grand County university students secure academic honors from spring 2025 semester

As summer slowly comes to an end, families are beginning to prepare to return to school. Students enrolled in higher education will return to their colleges and universities this fall and continue their studies. 

The following Grand County students received honors from their schools for high-achieving performance: 

  • Madison Mullinex of Granby received a spot on the Texas Tech University president’s honor list for her scholastic achievements. 
  • Caden Hanson of Granby, Aida Hester of Hot Sulphur Springs and Ben Mathis of Kremmling all earned a spot on the University of Wyoming’s spring president’s honor roll. 
  • Ryley Dakota Friesen of Granby received a place on Laramie County Community College’s spring president’s honor roll.
  • Elizabeth Kaplanis of Granby made the University of Mississippi chancellor’s honor roll. Kaplanis is majoring in sport and recreation administration. 
  • Grace Oveson of Granby was named on Hofstra University’s dean’s list. Oveson’s major is music.
  • Megan Davis of Tabernash made the Lee University dean’s list.
  • Zoe Wagner of Grand Lake was recognized on Belmont University’s dean’s list.
  • Kalla Porter of Kremmling received a spot on Southern New Hampshire University’s spring president’s list. 

Requirements for honor rolls vary between schools, but generally include a GPA above a certain threshold and enrollment in a minimum number of credit hours.



The following students completed their studies and graduated at the end of the spring semester:

  • Neva Meindl of Fraser, Chloe Sloan of Grand Lake, Bethanne Droll of Tabernash all graduated from Montana State. 
  • Jack Orear of Winter Park earned a bachelor of science in computer science and aerospace engineering from the University of Alabama. 
  • Aubree Bridge from Winter Park earned a bachelor of science with high distinction from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
  • Joy Hast of Kremmling graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts in English from Bob Jones University. 
  • Evan Laraby from Winter Park received a bachelors degree majoring in kinesiology from Central College. 
  • Charlie Multerer, a West Grand High School graduate, graduated from Princeton University.
