Helicopter helps douse Vasquez Mountain fire

A U.S. Forest Service helicopter picks up water from a pond at Grand Park in Fraser on Tuesday afternoon, July 22, to take to a wildfire on Vasquez Mountain near Winter Park. The fire, which was totally contained by Wednesday afternoon, is suspected to have been caused by humans and is currently under investigation by U.S. Forest Service law enforcement officers. The fire was around 50 feet by 100 feet in size. The fire occurred in an area where fuels had been reduced by the USFS, limiting its ability to spread.
