8 p.m.: The closure has been lifted, and all roads are reopened in Summit County.

5:45 p.m.: Interstate 70 Eastbound is closed at the Eisenhower Tunnel due to multiple crashes at mile marker 223 and adverse road conditions. U.S. Highway 6 over Loveland Pass is also closed eastbound.

The closure for I-70 is between Silverthorne’s Exit 205 and mile point 223 near Stevens Gulch. Traffic cameras show bumper-to-bumper traffic at Exit 205 near Silverthorne and near Stevens Gulch, east of the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels, as of 6 p.m. Traffic is expected to be heavy over the Presidents Day holiday weekend.

“Motorists should expect long delays and consider alternate routes,” an alert stated on CoTrip.org.

Summit County is under a winter weather advisory until 4 a.m. Saturday due to heavy snow and slippery conditions, and traction and chain laws are in effect across Colorado’s mountains for both passenger and commercial vehicles. Violations of the laws could result in fines.

Travelers can find information about road conditions by calling 511 or visiting CoTrip.org. For the latest weather alerts, visit Weather.gov/bou.
