A 70-year-old hiker was rescued from Mount Flora on Thursday, Aug. 14, after suffering a knee injury in a fall that left them unable to continue down the trail, according to a Facebook post from Grand County Search and Rescue.
Grand County Search and Rescue responded to the call with assistance from Grand County EMS, the Middle Park Medical Response Team and the U.S. Forest Service. Crews reached the hiker just after 1 p.m., provided medical care and used a litter with a wheel attachment to transport them down the rugged trail.
The hiker and their significant other were helped off the mountain. By mid-afternoon, both were safely back at the trailhead.
Grand County Search and Rescue officials thanked their partner agencies for the coordinated response, noting the teamwork made for a safe and efficient rescue.
