While frugal shoppers stand in Black Friday lines, skiers and riders can get their first runs of the season in at Winter Park Resort’s Mary Jane territory.
The resort announced Tuesday that it would open the Mary Jane territory and Super Gauge Express lift at 9 a.m. Friday. Also, Wednesday will come with the opening of more than double the amount of terrain that’s currently available.
Four lifts — High Lonesome Express, Olympia Express, Looking Glass and Lariat — will open Wednesday, meaning skiers and riders will have access to Hobo Alley, Lonesome Whistle, Whistlestop, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and Upper Cranmer.
The tubing hill and mountain snowcat tours also start up for the season on Wednesday.
On Friday, the Mary Jane Trail, Lower Arrowhead Loop, Shoo Fly and Sober Englishman will be among the trails anticipated to open.
According to OpenSnow.com, the resort currently has 22 out of 168 trails open.
