The Middle Park Fair and Rodeo has been a tradition since 1912. Hosted annually in Kremmling at the fairgrounds, the fair displays community pride in agriculture, tradition, hard work, education and skill, according to the Grand County website.
This year’s two-week event was held from July 26 to Aug. 10. At the fair, those involved in the youth development program 4-H and National FFA Organization presented the projects they had been working on throughout the year.
The 4-H and FFA showcases featured goats, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbits, horses and more. Youths also presented and auctioned their animals at the junior livestock sale.
David Buckley, president of the Middle Park Fair and Rodeo Board, said the junior livestock sale is the fair’s biggest event, adding that this year was “another record sale.”
“That’s where the kids, especially in livestock, really reap the reward of all of their work,” he said. “So it’s just a great way to wrap up the week and just give the acknowledgement to all the kids.”
Despite coming up short by $8,000 on sponsorship money in comparison to 2024, Buckley expressed optimism for attracting new sponsors in the coming years.
“We want to get the businesses in the community to understand that we’re trying to make this the largest annual event in our community,” he said.
