Middle Park Health warns of fraudulent billing call scams
Middle Park Health is alerting the community to a recent uptick in scam phone calls targeting patients with claims of overdue medical bills.
According to a post on the healthcare provider’s Facebook page, some individuals have reported receiving calls demanding immediate payment. The post emphasized that neither Middle Park Health nor its billing partner, BC Services, requests banking information over the phone to verify a patient’s identity.
Legitimate verification may include a patient’s name, date of birth, address and, in limited cases, the last four digits of a Social Security number, but never full financial details.
Patients who receive suspicious calls are urged not to share any banking information. Those with questions about their bills can review billing information through their MyChart account or contact customer service directly at 970-887-5885.
Middle Park Health urges anyone who suspects they have fallen victim to a scam to exercise caution and report the incident, according to the post.
