On Nov. 5-7, the Middle Park High School theater program will perform “Elf The Musical.” Each performance will feature a Christmas sweater and costume raffle. Audience members wearing a Christmas outfit will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize. Holiday-themed concessions will be offered, including hot chocolate and bake sale items, and a North Pole photo booth will be available.

Student choirs and bands have upcoming performances in December. On Dec. 7, choirs for students in sixth through 12th grade at East Grand Middle School and Middle Park High School will perform a Christmas concert.

The seventh- through 12th-grade band will have their concert Dec. 8. During the event, the visual arts department will display student work from different classes as part of “Night of the Creatives.” The sixth-grade band concert will take place Dec. 16.

Performing arts students participated in new opportunities during the past month and are looking forward to additional opportunities in the coming months. On Oct. 5, the Middle Park High School and West Grand High School choirs attended a vocal clinic at Rifle High School. Students learned from a clinician and sang with approximately 300 students.

In December, middle and high school students will be attending the annual ThesCon conference, a three-day educational event featuring performances, workshops, and networking opportunities. Middle school students will attend a one-day event Dec. 10. It will be the students’ first year participating in the conference. Additionally, theater students have been invited to a masterclass at Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater, although the details are still in the works.
