Mountain Parks Electric awards 25 scholarships totaling $101,100

Mountain Parks Electric has awarded 25 scholarships totaling $101,100 through its scholarship program, funded by the electric company’s unclaimed capital credits, according to an April 15 press release from the company.
The awards include 20 academic scholarships and five in trade school and electric industry categories. Recipients were selected from more than 60 applicants, with final approval by the electric company’s board of directors at its April 9 meeting.
Students will be recognized at Mountain Parks Electric’s 76th annual meeting May 2 at Middle Park High School in Granby. At the event, a free breakfast will be served to attendees at 8 a.m. and the meeting will start at 9:15 a.m. More information is available at http://www.MPEI.com/2026-Annual-Meeting.

Trade school scholarship recipients
- Alek Guziur, Middle Park High School — $5,000
- Hunter Horn, Middle Park High School — $5,000
- Christopher Mullinex, Middle Park High School — $2,500
- Jordan Pittman, local ski patroller pursuing EMT certification — $1,600
Electric industry scholarship recipient - John Butler, West Grand High School — $10,000
Academic scholarship recipients - Kyle Bosshard, Middle Park High School — $3,500
- Georgia Harvey, Middle Park High School — $5,500
- Vallie Mace, Middle Park High School — $3,500
- Lucas Reade, Middle Park High School — $4,500
- Aylin Rios, Middle Park High School — $3,500
- Addyson Salyards, Middle Park High School — $3,500
- Morgan Spiewak, Middle Park High School — $3,500
- Salvador Stokeld, Middle Park High School — $3,500
- Aiden Pittington, North Park High School — $4,500
- Denisse Martinez Vazquez, North Park High School — $4,500
- Brooklynn Weber, North Park High School — $4,500
- Karla Gonzalez, West Grand High School — $3,500
- Nitzy Munoz-Sierra, West Grand High School — $4,000
- Sky Paeglow, West Grand High School — $3,500
- Garrett Trevino, West Grand High School — $4,000
- Raquel Ruiz, Grand County Christian School — $3,500
- Callie Frietag, nontraditional student — $3,500
- Josie Meyring, nontraditional student — $3,500

- Caleb Taylor, nontraditional student — $3,500
Academic scholarship recipients represent Middle Park, West Grand, North Park and Grand County Christian schools, along with four nontraditional students continuing their education.
The recipients plan to pursue careers in fields including health care, natural resources, business, education and skilled trades, with many expressing a desire to return to serve rural and mountain communities, according to the release.
