The county and first responder agencies are getting ready to roll out a new emergency alert notification system. Emergency Management Director Alexis Kimbrough shared that Grand County will transition from CodeRed to a new platform to disseminate IPAWS alerts.

Standing for Integrated Public Alert & Warning System, this shares important alerts such as evacuation orders during wildfires or floods. After CodeRed fell victim to a cybersecurity attack in November 2025, county staff decided to move to Rave Mobile Safety, a Motorola company. The county plans to share more information with the public soon, once they are able to sign up starting April 2.
