It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved wife, Claudia Jane Ahrens Diamond—my best friend, my soulmate, and my high school sweetheart.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Claudia built a life devoted to family, learning, and service. She graduated from the Clara Maass School of Nursing in Jersey City and went on to earn a master’s degree in public health with honors from Columbia University in NYC.
Claudia practiced nursing at Dover General Hospital in New Jersey and later became head of Diagnostic Related Groups (DRG) for Cigna of California. She also served as co-owner and chief financial officer of the Diamond Consulting Group, sharing with me the work of building our business.
Among her many accomplishments, her role as a mother held a special place. As a homeschooling mom, Claudia devoted her time, intelligence, and love to raising our children, Rebecca and David—two of the finest people I have ever known. Their lives are an enduring part of her legacy.
Claudia cared deeply about her community. She founded the Grand County Jewish Community (GCJC) and was an avid supporter of the Fraser River Valley Lions and the Rocky Mountain Repertoire Theater. Through her involvement, she helped bring people together and supported the place she loved.
Though New Jersey was her birthplace, Winter Park was the home of her heart.
She leaves behind a family whose lives she shaped and a community strengthened by her contributions.
A memorial wake to honor Claudia’s life will be held sometime in 2027. Details will be shared when arrangements are finalized.
For me, she will always be the girl I fell in love with, the woman who shared my life, and the person I wanted beside me through it all.
Claudia, I wish we had more time. Thank you for our children, our life together, and your love. You will always be my sweetheart.
—Claude Diamond
