Donald “Cary” Laman was born July 21, 1964 in Kremmling, Colorado and passed away at his home near Granby March 11, 2024 with his family by his side.
Cary’s early childhood was spent with his family in Las Vegas. The family returned to Granby where he graduated from Middle Park High School in 1982. After graduation he joined the Air Force and was proud to serve his country. His early professional life included logging, heavy equipment and snow plow operator but long term he was a general contractor doing remodels and building homes.
Cary was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Love of nature was a passion he shared with many friends. He was a master storyteller with a quick wit, great sense of humor, infectious laugh and grin and loved a good joke or prank. He had a big but gentle heart and was always there for friends and family.
Cary is survived by his mother Randa, brother Troy (Sarah), nieces Skylar and Kendall, cousin Pat Moore and his family as well as numerous other relatives both near and far. Cary also had an amazing family of treasured friends – and then there is Monte, his dog.
A celebration of Cary’s life will be held this summer, Sunday, July 21 at the family property. More information forthcoming.
